Purpose Driven: What does it truly mean to be purpose driven?

Updated: Apr 23

"The burnout had me looking for quicker alternatives"

Lately, I've been asking myself. What does it truly mean to be driven by purpose? What is my why?

I must admit, sometimes I get so busy with  "how" I am going to accomplish my dreams that I lose sight of my “why”

As an independent artist without a team, I constantly find myself juggling many  roles and thoughts. This multitasking leaves me feeling lost, confused, and oftentimes burnout. The burnout had me looking for quicker alternatives. (Quicker is NOT always better)

I thought trying to find a shortcut would help alleviate some of the burnout and confusion but it didn’t it led me astray. (Continued)

"The answer became clear: I had lost my anchor in purpose."

I had this revelation while reflecting on my relationship with social media.

I noticed higher engagement when I showcased my body. While there's nothing wrong with showing skin, I had to reassess my intent. My aim was to grab attention in hopes of driving people to listen to my music, but at what cost?

I realized I didn't desire any of this if it compromised who I truly am. Although I wished for people to support my music and attend my shows, I questioned the trade-off.

This led me to ask two questions:

  1. What is my purpose?

  2. How did I stray from it?

The answer became clear: I had lost my anchor in purpose. My music and art are avenues to reassure people that they are not alone. I want to inspire those who doubt themselves, showing them that it's never too late to pursue their dreams.

I drifted because I failed to remind myself of this purpose. (continued)

I urge you to ask yourself these same questions and find your answers.

  1. What is my purpose?

  2. How did I stray from it?

Let your purpose serve as your guiding light, illuminating your path even in the darkest of times.

Lastly, remember that you are not alone. The light within you is not just illuminating your world but the world around you.

Love ya,
